Construction Companies Join the Green Renaissance
June 30, 2009
As new home construction slows home builders are finding new opportunities to hop aboard an ever accelerating bio-fueled train loaded with “green” jobs. Construction companies that would typically find themselves building new homes are now finding revenue streams in the reconstruction and weatherization of homes as homeowners cash in on incentives to become more energy efficient.
In the following video from CNN Money President Obama’s Special Advisor for Green Jobs, Van Jones, discusses how far we’ve come in the creation of green jobs and where we’ll be a few years down the road. Jones says we’re “on track” to create millions of jobs as promised in the original Stimulus bill.
CareerBuilder.com recently launched GoingGreenJobs.com. The site serves as a portal to connect job seekers interested in environmentally friendly jobs to quality employers involved in the green movement.
In addition, job seekers and employers can access current news updates from the US Department of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy on GoingGreenJobs.com. Emerging initiatives and measures passing in Washington provide homeowners with incentives to weatherize their homes and represent new business opportunities for construction companies and specialty contractors all across the US. Stay alert to find out how you can take advantage.
